Not Much Going On Right Now

We have been in wait mode in our apartment. We thought we were supposed to do something yesterday vis-a-vis the adoption but we misunderstood.

The referral letters that we got from the SDA in Kiev are not sufficient to gain access to the children. Those letters must go to the Inspector's office first. From there, new documents are written up that will allow us to visit the children. That step has not been completed yet. They say either today or tomorrow.

The second thing happening is that our facilitator down here in Odessa needs Power of Attorney. She says that we will be visiting a notary to sign papers, probably today, though we have not heard from her yet.

We are staying close to the apartment for now in case we are needed.

Hello,
The referral process takes more time now because of the new adoption law that came in effect on December 1, 2008. Now it requires that the inspector travel to the orphanage with the family to meet the children... We had to do the same thing yesterday...the inspector came with us to the orphanage and wrote some kind of agreement to adoption paper. The funny thing is that the inspector didnt even know how to fill the paper out, our attorney was telling her how to fill it out!
Blessings
Inna

I pray that today is the day to get the ball rolling for your adoption.

I posted today a great craft item you can make while waiting. I think you can get all the needed materials locally...
