Mission Trips Affect You

Over the years I have been a church youth group volunteer and have been to Mexico several times with teenagers. I think these trips are great because they give our teens a different perspective on the world. This is always true: We go places intending to make a difference, but we often find that the biggest difference happens within us. I encourage you to get involved with your church with short-term missions. Yes, it may cost you some vacation time, but what an experience.

From time to time I come across blogs of missions teams that go to Ukraine, both adult groups and youth. I don't really have a blog list for them because they come and go so quickly, plus they're kind of hard to find. Here's a video of some youth that went to Ukraine in 2004. I guarantee you they came home changed. About a week ago, Valya and I watched it and we wept together.

Life changing...brings back so many memories that I will never forget. I would love to go back again with all my children.

I had a family adopt the little boy in the red sweater with blond hair show briefly a few times.

Oh my goodness! You can not watch this and not weep! And from what I see this appears to be a better orphanage than most!I will be going to the Ukraine to present at a conference for both families and orphanage doctors and staff! Please help spread the word how people can help even if they can't not go on a trip themselves. Thank you. Sandie Flannery ServingSpecialOrphans.blogspot.com
